The road trip of life Highway 278

Summary

This is my personal travel site as well as the story of a life.  The plan is to show road trips that will be focused on highway 278 which runs through the deep south as well as being a recurrent theme in my life.
Highway 278 travels through the deep south and is a microcosm of many of the things that are great about the deep south, as well as being a window into some of the darker past. It si all part of our history both as individuals and collectively.  It starts (or finished at the Atlantic Ocean in Hilton Head Island, SC and runs to conclusion in a small town in central Arkansas.  Along the way the history of southern music can be traced especially by just venturing off a little.  The history of southern culture can also be traced along the highway.  And by this, I mean the culture of all people of the south whether their ancestors voluntarily migrated here or were forced here against their wishes.  And, of course, not to forget the native American settlers.  The highway runs along the infamous Blues Highway and the birthplace of legendary influencers of blues, country and rock music.  It passes through Tupelo the birthplace of Elvis Presley.  It passes beautiful college campuses and the past farms that have changed dramatically changed over the years.  It passes through one very large city, Atlanta and other well know places such as Augusta, GA home of The Masters. There are water falls and natural bridges.  A convent and the Mississippi River.  The list goes on.  And all of the traces my life through school and the birthplace of children.  I have lived and have homes at various places.
